Dr. Maria Giannacourou
Project Manager

 

Organizational Psychologist and Human Factors Specialist. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Maryland, USA, an M.Sc. in Industrial Psychology from Hull University, U.K. and a PhD in cognitive psychology, decision making, and ergonomics from the University of Piraeus, GR.

She is a Member of the Adjunct Faculty at the Hellenic Open University (School of Social Sciences) and has taught courses in undergraduate (Ergonomics, Organizational Psychology) and graduate level (Research Methodology) at University of Piraeus, University of the Aegean and the Technical University of Crete.  She has extensive professional experience in business consulting collaborating with international bodies and is Project Coordinator and Project Manager in various national and European research projects (Erasmus +, CIP-ICT-PSP, EEA grants).

She is Project Manager in CRETHIDEV responsible, among others, for the quality assurance of Erasmus+ projects, including blended learning approaches for the development of new skills such as digital skills as well as for mapping digital needs in European level and developing training profiles using the e-cf and digi-comp framework. 

A co-founder of the Hellenic Ergonomics Society, she is the co-author of the book "Contemporary Ergonomics” in Greek (686 pages) taught also in several universities, and has published in peer-reviewed conference proceedings and scientific journals. Her research interests lay in the field of Adult Education, Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship and Ergonomics.
