Kick-off meeting for "OAC: Outdoor Against Cancer: move yourself, go out and live"

The Erasmus+ project OAC: Outdoor Against Cancer: move yourself, go out and live has started its activities with a kick-off meeting organized by the project Lead Partner, “TUM” (Technical University of Munich), on Wednesday 16th January, in Munich.

The main aim of OAC project is to create awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity for cancer patients and thus to effectively enhance the times of physical activity in those patients. The project will guarantee an easier access to facilitate the participation in oudoor sporting activities for the cancer patients and survivors, to benefit from positive health-related effects

The project outcomes will include also the creation of a network through different channels as social media and an European community, to share project news and encourage the participation in outdoor activities. 

The project team consists of a balanced expertise mix from different disciplines: European project experts, sport scientists, psychologists communication specialists and education experts. The project brings together 9 insightful and experienced partners from 5 European countries: Technical University of Munich (TUM), Germany - OAC (Outdoor Against Cancer), Germany - Västerbotten County Council (VLL), Sweden - Naturfreunde Kärnten (NFK), Austria - The Umeå University (UMU), Sweden - Västerbottens Idrottsforbund (VIF), Sweden - Creative Thinking Development (CRE.THI.DEV.), Greece - Universitá Degli Studi di Palermo (UNIPA), Italy - CEIPES Network, Italy.

During the kick-off meeting the Timeline was discussed and a discussion on the working methods, Finances, the Quality Assurance framework for the project and the implementation of the project’s WP’s was started. Active discussion also took place regarding the project’s target group, and dissemination activities. Partners expressed their interests and expectations and a solid foundation for the project was built.
